How to book a DLT appointment as a foreigner
Busy offices want you to book through the DLT Smart Queue app or website. Walk-ins are accepted at some offices and turned away at others, so book 1-2 weeks ahead where you can.
This is one step of the main guide: how to get a Thai driving licence as a foreigner.
Do you need an appointment?
It depends on the office. Big expat offices push everyone to book, and small ones handle walk-ins.

The OTP and phone-number problem
Some foreign applicants report that the app asks for a Thai mobile number to send a verification code and fails for a foreign passport. Other guides say expats register with their passport number and receive the code by email. Check which applies when you register.
If it fails, do not keep trying. Phone the office, or ask your landlord, employer or an agent to book for you.
Timing with your documents
The medical certificate and the certificate of residence are valid about 30 days. Book the appointment first, then collect them 1 to 3 days before the date. If the slot is weeks away, do the e-learning course and the translation in the meantime.
